Crown Group Remain Confident in Weakening Sydney Market
Mastery by Crown Group
Crown Group, one of Australia’s foremost property developers, launched its Mastery project in Sydney’s Waterloo in mid-November 2018.
The Mastery project is made up of 374 high-end apartments and penthouses spread throughout a 5 building precinct.
Abundant greenery features across the five Mastery structures, which are well served by restaurants, shops and top-class facilities.
Hot spot Waterloo
Despite the recent downturn in the Sydney housing market, Crown Group remains upbeat about the demand for luxury properties in prime locations.
A former industrial hub, Sydney’s Waterloo has evolved into a desirable place to live with a healthy community life and a busy lifestyle.
Waterloo is a mere 5 kilometres from Sydney’s CBD and just 15 minutes from the beach and there are great transport links with bus routes, cycle lanes and a dedicated station on the new Sydney Metro, due to be finished in 2024.
A successful sales launch
At the November 2018 launch of the Mastery project, buyers spent $40 million on first stage apartments, with locals eagerly grabbing the majority of available properties.
Over 140 people came to the launch and were characterised by the developer as a combination of property investors and owner-occupiers. They varied from first-time house buyers and millennial professionals to families with small children and older couples wishing to downsize.
It was reported that buyers gathered at Crown Group’s head office well before opening time in an effort to snap up one of the most exclusive high rise residences in Waterloo.
Mastery is also being promoted in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Surabaya, Tokyo and Singapore where global buyers will have the opportunity to acquire the first stage apartments.
The chairman of Crown Group, Iwan Sunito, said he is optimistic about Sydney’s housing market, even though prices have slumped.
World-renowned architects behind Mastery
The tallest building in the Mastery project will be a 20-storey “stacked forest”, the brainchild of internationally recognised Japanese architect Kengo Kuma.
Iwan Sunito has long been impressed by master architect Kengo Kuma, who enjoys considerable fame in Japan.
Mastery is the first residential construction in Australia to be designed by Kengo Kuma and Associates.
The collaboration of an architect of Kuma’s stature will raise the overall standard of Waterloo’s revitalisation.
